Foie Gras and The Kumquats ๐ฆ Foie Gras: The foie gras was rich and creamy, paired with candied kumquat peels that were incredibly sweet. The bread served alongside was the same as the bread used for the meal, but toasted more intensely, with sesame seeds that were half-burnt for added aroma. While it was tasty, it wasnโt a standout appetizer. Skip it if youโre not a fan of foie gras. ๐ Capellini Cantonese ๐ Capellini Cantonese: This dish was a unique twist on traditional Chinese stir-fried rice noodles, reimagined with Italian flair. The capellini was seasoned with garlic and olive oil, but the addition of bell pepper strips made the dish overwhelmingly bell pepper-flavored. The lobster was stir-fried with ginger, garlic, and Shaoxing wine, then placed back into the shell. It was a pleasant surprise, though not what youโd typically expect at an Italian restaurant. ๐ฆ Handcut Noodles ๐ Handcut Tagliatelle: The special of the day was handcut tagliatelle, and I opted for the sea urchin cream sauce. It came with an extra 20 grams of Hokkaido sea urchin and 10 grams of caviar, priced at $140. Despite my skepticism about the price, my curiosity got the better of me, and I couldnโt resist ordering it. The sauce had red onion bits that made it quite salty, overshadowing the other flavors. The sea urchin was average in quality. Overall, it wasnโt bad, but it wasnโt great either. I felt like I was paying a premium for the Hokkaido sea urchin, which is often overpriced. ๐ #NewYork #FineDining #FoodieAdventures ๐๐
