New York Drinking Diary (1) | Martiny’s

I'm starting to document my recent bar visits, and it just so happens that they're all three of Takuma's places. 🍃🌸 Among them, Martiny’s is probably the hardest to get a reservation at. On weekdays, you can usually walk in when they open, but after that, it's pretty much a 1-hour wait. Martiny’s feels like one of the sweeter Japanese bars in NY, and it's quite easy to get a little tipsy, but every drink is very comfortable. I've been there several times since last year, including during their third anniversary, and I've tried all the signatures. I'll pick a few that left an impression (disclaimer: I'm a picky drinker who loves to drink, so my reviews are super subjective): 🍃🌸 Grand Martini: I usually prefer sweeter drinks, but this martini is genuinely quite good. It has a decent alcohol content but is very easy to drink. In comparison, the $46 martini didn't seem as good, maybe because the glass wasn't cold enough. Three Little Words: As a gin and fruity martini lover, this one was a bit heavier on the alcohol than I prefer. 🍃🌸 I still love the green grape martini from the old Kaisha more. But I was happy to find it in New York! #NewYork 🌇🌟
