New York Exhibition | Surreal Dreams and Tender Bronze Sculptures
I stumbled upon a quiet afternoon and visited the Di Donna exhibition. 🌇 🎨The exhibition is called In the Mind’s Garden, like stepping carefully into an invisible courtyard between reality and dreams. I finally made it before the exhibition closed. ✨This time, the works of Claude Lalanne and René Magritte are on display. My favorite pieces: 🎨I lingered especially in front of Lalanne’s Unique Choupette. The plump bird, with its mottled bronze, feels unexpectedly soft; I also saw Lapin Debout à Colleville, a standing rabbit wearing copper leaves, fantastical and elegant, as if slowly walking out of Alice in Wonderland. I also spent some time contemplating Magritte’s Moralité du Sommeil. The sleeping face and floating images feel like a whispered dream ✨The gallery space is small but feels like a silent room, shutting out reality and leaving just a bit of tenderness for today. The gallery is tucked away in an old building with a low-key facade. If you happen to be in the Upper East Side recently, you might want to drop by and take a look. 🌿 Not for the sake of checking in, but just to make this city a little quieter on a certain afternoon. 📍 Di Donna Galleries (Upper East Side, with a low-key entrance, watch out for it) 📅 The exhibition runs until December 23, 2025. No extra ticket required. 🌟 #NYCExhibitions #NewYorkLife
