New York Exploration | First Visit to Nakaji – A Total Delight! 🌟

🍃I couldn’t wait to give Nakaji a big thumbs up! The entire experience was way beyond my expectations. I had seen mixed reviews online, mostly criticizing the chef’s service attitude, so I was a bit nervous before going. I was worried about being treated differently, but that didn’t happen at all. The whole experience was super pleasant and relaxed. The chef even cracked a few jokes, making the atmosphere really enjoyable. 🌊 We went on a weekday at 5:30 PM, and there were only four of us in the entire place. It felt like we had personalized service, which was pretty cool! 😄 The waiter who served us was an uncle from Malaysia who spoke Cantonese. As a fellow Guangdong native, I felt so at home! 🌿 🌟 Food The first three courses were oysters and scallops, a huge conch, and fish and shrimp with radish slices (simple language). The key points were “firm texture” and “sweet and fresh.” They didn’t use overly fancy ingredients, but the combinations were perfectly balanced, light, and delicious. It felt like the beginning of a wonderful journey. 🏙️ Next up was the jack mackerel with purple sweet potato. The fish was prepared tempura-style, crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, drizzled with lemon juice. It was so tender and fresh! The rabbit cup was filled with tofu skin and snow crab meat, which became my highlight of the night! The snow crab meat had delicate fibers that melted in your mouth, and the tofu skin absorbed the broth perfectly. The soup was just amazing—I finished it all in one go! 🍲 After that, it was time for sushi. I ordered a cup of sake to pair with it. The first and second sushi pieces were scallops prepared right in front of us at the chef’s counter. 🎢 They felt crispier and meatier than usual. The ginger on top was a bit strong, so if you’re not a fan, remember to remove it! The sushi portions were generous, with less rice and more fish. Who wouldn’t love that? ❤️ I couldn’t stop eating! 🌸 If you’re in New York and looking for an amazing dining experience, Nakaji is definitely worth a visit. The food is incredible, and the service was top-notch! 🌟 #NewYork 🌃
