New York Exploration | Lucky Cat's Meat Mountain Hot Pot π
Last weekend, I finally ventured out to eat in New York for the first time since the pandemic. For the past six months, I've been in a self-sufficient, stay-at-home mode, so it took a lot of courage to finally go out and have a meal on Manhattan. π π Initially, I planned to visit Jukai on 53rd Street, but when we arrived at 3 p.m., they hadn't opened for outdoor dining yet. So, we decided to explore the area and see what we could find. To our delight, Lucky Cat, a place I've been wanting to try for a while, was right across the street and had very few people (as expected). We happily found an outdoor seat and settled in. π π We ordered a hot pot with minced meat and offal. We originally wanted the pig's trotter pot, but it seemed like too much, and we also wanted to try the skewers, so we skipped it. π Meat Mountain Hot Pot No. 2 πThe meat was incredibly delicious, and paired with an abundance of vegetables, it felt surprisingly light and not at all heavy. The portion size was perfect for two people, and I ended up drinking a lot of the broth because I loved its slightly spicy flavor. It was especially comforting on a slightly chilly day, providing a perfect warmth. π² π Skewers We ordered skewers with a bit more vegetables, and each one was incredibly tasty. The cherry tomatoes were perfectly grilled, the shrimp and other seafood were delicious, and they all had that wonderful charcoal-grilled flavor from open-fire cooking. Even the green onions were amazing, and we couldn't get enough. We definitely want to come back and try more next time. π π’ After the meal, we visited the nearby Eclair Bakery and enjoyed a delicious Γ©clair. With our bellies full and hearts content, we headed home, feeling very satisfied. πͺ #NewYork π
