New York Food and Drink Exploration ๐
On the Rocks ๐ 696 10th Ave A hidden gem of a whiskey bar in Hell's Kitchen on Manhattan's West Side. They have an extensive collection of whiskies from all over the world, with various regions and ages. ๐ฟ๐ When I first visited in 2021, I didn't know it was primarily a whiskey bar, so I ordered a bunch of non-whiskey cocktails. ๐ฅค The second time, I went specifically for the Whiskey Flight. It was a hardcore experience, but it allowed me to taste and identify the different classic regions and flavors. The drinking methods include Straight and On the Rocks (fitting the bar's name), and they even provide a dropper bottle so you can add water to find the perfect flavor and mouthfeel ratio for your whiskey. ๐ฅฉ ๐ฟ๐ Osamil Upstairs A speakeasy I discovered by chance in Koreatown. I was initially dining at Osamil on the first floor, but their cocktail menu drew me in, and I managed to secure a seat at the upstairs bar. Osamil has a wide variety of dishes that are tasty but a bit greasy, designed as perfect accompaniments to drinks. ๐ Smoky Whiskey Old Fashioned โ Really nice! ๐ฟ๐ Bartlett Pear Cocktail โ Very refreshing, perfect for ladies. ๐ The most memorable drink was called Cocaine. The bartender handed us a bag of white powder as a garnish and announced the name, which really made us laugh. It was a fun and creative idea, but the drink was quite sweet with a thick layer of cream on top. ๐ธ #NewYork ๐ #Speakeasy ๐ธ #WhiskeyLovers ๐ฅ
