New York Food Exploration | Via Carota in the West Village (1)🌟
🏙️This time, I visited the renowned Italian restaurant Via Carota with some friends for lunch. It’s co-owned by New York chefs Jody Williams and Rita Sodi and is a sister restaurant to their signature spots Buvette and I Sodi. 🌸 Since its opening in 2014, Via Carota has been incredibly popular for its authentic Italian cuisine. The place is always packed, with wait times often stretching for hours. Even the usually aloof New Yorker magazine has named it “New York’s Perfect Restaurant.” 🌆 🍃 Here are some of the signature dishes we tried: ‘Nduja Arancini 🎢 These Sicilian-style rice balls are filled with spicy pork sausage (‘Nduja) and cheese, then fried to a crispy perfection. The soft interior contrasts beautifully with the crispy exterior, and the intense flavor of the sausage adds a delightful kick. 🍖 Funghi 🌊 Grilled mushrooms topped with marinated porcini mushrooms and layered over smoked scamorza cheese from Southern Italy. The porcini have a fresh, almost meaty flavor that pairs wonderfully with the smoky cheese. 🍄 #NewYork
