New York Food
| Authentic Shanghai & Jiangsu Cuisine Restaurant Recommendation - Longtang 🥬Compared to London, New York has so many more authentic #ShanghaiCuisine and #JiangsuCuisine restaurants. To be honest, I haven’t found a truly authentic Shanghai or Jiangsu restaurant in the UK. Even the private chefs in London always seem to fall a bit short. 😔 🎈 Longtang (Little Alley) 📍 550 3rd Ave, New York, NY 10016, United States - Just a stone’s throw away from Fifth Avenue! 🌃 Best Dish: Malan Tou (Horsehead Leaf) 🥬This is absolutely amazing! It’s the exact flavor I’ve been missing. Back in China, I rarely made Malan Tou at home; it was always a dish I ordered at restaurants or took home. It was a must-have cold dish whenever we dined out! To find it here in New York is just so exciting! So delicious! 😋 Yan Du Xian (Braised Pork with Bamboo Shoots) This isn’t something we often ate back home, so my longing for it wasn’t as strong as for Malan Tou. But the soup is incredibly fresh! The combination of pork skin and bamboo shoots is just perfect. 🍲 🥬 Shanghai Fried Noodles To be honest, this wasn’t as impressive as the first two dishes, but the rich, savory sauce is spot-on. The noodles are authentic, and while I’m not used to seeing shrimp in fried noodles, the bok choy 🥬 really adds a touch of soul to the dish. 🎈 I apologize if this post seems overly excited, but finding home-cooked flavors in New York is truly a joy! 🌟 🎈 Average Cost: Around $30 per person. #NYCFood 🍔 #ShanghaiCuisine 🌟 #JiangsuCuisine 🌟
