New York Foodie Diary | Creative Korean Cuisine at Nudibranch (1)🌟
I’ve been hearing about this New American restaurant from friends for ages, and I finally got to try it out—only to discover it’s actually a creative Korean spot! 🌈 📍 Nudibranch A fun fact for the uninitiated: the name "Nudibranch" refers to a type of sea slug, known for its vibrant colors and #dopamine color palette. It’s a beautiful and exotic sea creature! 🌊 🍐 Rating: 7/10 Every dish is super creative. The first two courses were quite surprising. The service, however, was a bit inconsistent. One waiter was particularly handsome😍 and incredibly attentive. He even knelt down to speak softly—OMG! 😍 💰 We opted for the $75 three-course prefix menu, which included an additional $10 for dessert. You can also order à la carte if you prefer. 🍐 Amuse Strong start! The Korean pear was amazing, paired with elderflower. 🍐 For the first course, we chose: Signature Frog Legs 🍐 The frog legs were incredibly tender—something that’s really hard to achieve. I’ve tried making them at home a few times and have to admit defeat. The only minor critique is that two legs were slightly less tender than the others. 🦵🏻 Alpaca Tartare 🍐I was genuinely shocked to find alpaca on the menu! It’s sourced from an alpaca farm in Vermont. I couldn’t quite tell the difference between alpaca and llama, but this dish was Nikkei-style, a Peruvian fusion that’s quite common in Peru. The dish was well-seasoned with pear granules, and it tasted just like tuna tartare. The creativity here is top-notch! 💯 These two dishes were Michelin-star level. #NewYork
