New York Foodie Diary | Creative Korean Cuisine at Nudibranch (1)š
Iāve been hearing about this New American restaurant from friends for ages, and I finally got to try it outāonly to discover itās actually a creative Korean spot! š š Nudibranch A fun fact for the uninitiated: the name "Nudibranch" refers to a type of sea slug, known for its vibrant colors and #dopamine color palette. Itās a beautiful and exotic sea creature! š š Rating: 7/10 Every dish is super creative. The first two courses were quite surprising. The service, however, was a bit inconsistent. One waiter was particularly handsomeš and incredibly attentive. He even knelt down to speak softlyāOMG! š š° We opted for the $75 three-course prefix menu, which included an additional $10 for dessert. You can also order Ć la carte if you prefer. š Amuse Strong start! The Korean pear was amazing, paired with elderflower. š For the first course, we chose: Signature Frog Legs š The frog legs were incredibly tenderāsomething thatās really hard to achieve. Iāve tried making them at home a few times and have to admit defeat. The only minor critique is that two legs were slightly less tender than the others. š¦µš» Alpaca Tartare šI was genuinely shocked to find alpaca on the menu! Itās sourced from an alpaca farm in Vermont. I couldnāt quite tell the difference between alpaca and llama, but this dish was Nikkei-style, a Peruvian fusion thatās quite common in Peru. The dish was well-seasoned with pear granules, and it tasted just like tuna tartare. The creativity here is top-notch! šÆ These two dishes were Michelin-star level. #NewYork
