New York Free Adventure – Kayaking on the Hudson River 🚣

Free Kayaking Program at Pier 26 In conclusion: the views are absolutely stunning, the experience is truly unique, but it’s also a real·hardcore·workout! Friends who want to go must read about my experience! 📍 Address: Pier 26 Boathouse (Hudson River Park) 🕒 Time: 10:00 AM - 4:30 PM (Make sure to arrive early if you want to kayak!) www.downtownboathouse.org This is the website. Check the official site for more detailed info! 💰 Price: Completely FREE! (Run entirely by volunteers – so heartwarming! 😭❤️) 🎫 Reservation: No reservation needed! But you must line up onsite – first come, first served. We waited about 20 minutes. 📝 The process is super simple: Sign in: You’ll need to sign a waiver. (No ID required.) Store bags & change: Free lockers and locks are provided, plus changing areas. Make sure to bring a full change of clothes – from inside out – because you WILL get completely soaked! 💦👚🩳 Wear a life jacket: Volunteers will help you choose and put it on. It’s mandatory! Quick lesson: Volunteers teach basic paddling techniques. Newcomers don’t need to worry at all. Hop in and start kayaking! You’ll launch from the floating dock. ⚠️ Important tips (learned the hard way 😩): You MUST know how to swim: This is a strict rule for safety. Fitness warning: The website says it’s a 20-minute experience, but I actually kayaked for almost an hour! 🚣💪 Especially when paddling back against the current – my arms and core were on fire! If you don’t exercise regularly, think twice! Go early! It gets crowded in the afternoon, and they might stop admitting people earlier. Try to arrive by 3 PM at the latest. Sun and water protection: Apply sunscreen (they also offer free sunscreen there!). Better to keep your phone in your bag or bring a waterproof case. Let me know your experience! 🛶💬 #KayakLife #HudsonRiverKayaking #FreeInNYC #OutdoorNYC #SummerOnTheWater #KayakAdventure #NYCSummer #ExploreNYC #WaterSportsNYC #Pier26Fun
