New York Greek Restaurant | Pylos 🍝
I’ve heard that 🇿 Greek cuisine is often considered one of the world’s healthiest, thanks to its association with the Mediterranean diet, which has been proven to have countless health benefits. Pylos is a cozy, family-style restaurant in the East Village. The food is pretty good, though not mind-blowing—I still prefer Persian cuisine. HTAPOTHI SCHARAS 🐙 The grilled octopus legs are tender, with a nice tang from the capers. Some restaurants overcook them, making them bitter, but this place got the timing just right. ARNI KOTSI ME MELI, ME MIKRA PSITA LAHANIKA The braised lamb shanks are soft and come in generous portions. They’re a bit rich if you eat too much, though. PSARI STA KARVOUNA The whole roasted fish is fresh and flavorful. The kitchen can debone it for you, and a squeeze of 🍋 lemon brings out the sea’s taste. MOUSSAKA 🍆 The eggplant tower, similar to lasagna, has layers of eggplant, zucchini, and potatoes. It’s deliciously hearty. The complimentary pita 🫓 is soft and fluffy. The spread is probably something like hummus. #NYCFoodie #RestaurantReview #MediterraneanCuisine #GreekRestaurant #SeafoodLover #OctopusLegs
