New York Japanese Cuisine: Jukai — Time for Duck Hot Pot 🍲

Hey foodies! If you’re tired of the usual sukiyaki, how about trying some duck hot pot at Jukai? 🌟 🍃 Duck Hot Pot 🍲 🐟The duck hot pot starts at $120 for two people, and it comes with an appetizer and dessert. I absolutely love duck, and the raw duck slices on the plate are just stunning! 🦆 When you cook the duck in the pot, make sure to flip it after it gets some color, and don’t overcook it. Pair it with yuzu pepper salt, and enjoy a small bowl of this deliciousness! 🍃 The glass noodles, tofu, mushrooms, and other ingredients in the pot are also super tasty. 🍲 🐟We also ordered the daily special grilled fish, which was salt-grilled sea bream for $20. It’s a bit pricey for such a small portion, but it was still delicious. 🐟 🍃For dessert, there’s nothing particularly amazing, but there’s one thing you definitely should avoid: the plum sorbet. It was terrible—sour and salty ice chunks. If you’re curious and still want to try it, I won’t stop you, but be prepared for a surprise! (The black tea pudding and matcha ice cream were okay, though. 👌) Jukai is a sunken-style restaurant. The line next door at Tomi Jazz can get pretty long, so make sure you’re in the right queue! 😄 🐟 The average cost per person is around $80. Next time, I’m thinking of trying the Jukai Course for $95 per person. Sharing a duck hot pot between two people feels a bit too filling, and it even comes with a side of udon noodles. I was pretty stuffed! 🍳 One cool thing about this place: no tip required, which is pretty rare in New York! But keep in mind, this place isn’t cheap to begin with. 💰 🍃 Jukai Address: 237 E 53rd St, New York, NY 10022 #NewYorkFood #NewYorkJapanese Cuisine 🍳🌟
