New York Kiki’s: Homestyle, Rustic, Affordable, and Generous Portions

🐟 Homestyle: Not the Estiatorio Milos in Hudson Yards or Meduza in Chelsea, Kiki’s Greek restaurant in the Lower East Side’s Chinatown has no pretensions. It offers classic Mediterranean dishes with a variety of seafood, meat, and poultry options. Just walk in and enjoy! 🌿 🐑 Rustic: Carb-loaded, breaded and fried, big chunks of meat, loads of Parmesan, and dense desserts. The visuals say it all—no need for more words. Overall, it’s not as greasy as some reviews suggest, but it is a bit salty, so be ready to drink a lot of water. 💧 🥩 Affordable: The most expensive items, like branzino (which I unfortunately missed out on) and lamb chops, are around $29. Most other dishes start with a 1. 💰 🍰 Generous Portions: Three appetizers can fill you up halfway. The lamb chops come with a mountain of crispy skin-on fries, and the must-order strawberry cheesecake is dense and satisfying. After dining with friends, we felt so happy and full that we dozed off as soon as we got home... 😴 The eternal plastic plates, detergent-like large bottles of salt, worn wooden tables, and creaky ceiling fans—this place is a perfect example of the rugged charm you’d only find in Chinatown. The layout is quite unique, as the restaurant used to be a Chinese grocery store. 🎨 The food is never sloppy despite the affordable prices. On a sunny day, enjoy a hearty meal with friends without worrying about the sun. Sit at the outdoor seats and feel like you’re chilling on a European street. ☁️ 📍 Kiki’s #NYCFoodie #EatDrinkPlay 🍔🌟
