π’ New York Kochi β’ A New, Elegant Korean Skewer Restaurant
π₯°The chef, Mr. Sung Shim, who previously worked at Per Se, Le Bernardin, and Neta π¨π»βπ³, is super friendly and adorable. He not only cooks personally but also manages the entire kitchen's rhythm, showing great dedication! πͺ The nine-course tasting menu is priced at $75, and you can add black/white truffle, uni, and caviar for an extra cost. Overall, the value for money is really high. π° After eating all nine skewers, I was pretty full because each dish was quite generous in portion (for example, the pork belly came with three thick slicesβ¦ honestly, one slice would have been enough). π₯° Babies, the last dish, sea urchin rice, is absolutely twice as delicious as the one at Jungsik. Before trying Kochi's, I always loved Jungsik's sea urchin rice the most, but this place has changed my top pick! π β₯οΈ My absolute favorite was the dessert: black sesame ice cream. It was incredible!! I can say without hesitation that it's the number one ice cream I've ever had in New York βπ». I would go back just for this dessert. Actually, the chef saw how much I loved the dessert and asked if I wanted another one. I politely declined, saying I'd save it for my next visit. π #NewYork ππ
