New York Michelin Dining Progress: 9% (2)๐ŸŒŸ

Nakaji ๐Ÿฃ This sushi place is rumored to be amazing, but I found it just okay. The toro didn't feel very fresh that day, but the sea urchin was generously portioned! ๐ŸŒฟThe chef wasn't as unfriendly as rumored eitherโ€”he didn't even mind us playing with our phones. The only downside was that most of the dishes were prepared in the kitchen, so the experience wasn't as engaging as I hoped. ๐Ÿ’ฐ $500+ Hakubai ๐Ÿ™ This kaiseki restaurant was a mixed bag. The A5 Wagyu and the final chestnut pie were absolutely delicious! ๐ŸŒฟThere was a pleasant surprise with the sweet potato in the rice, but the sea urchin tamago was a missโ€”it had a thick layer of sauce that created a strange texture and flavor. The second-to-last dessert was some kind of palate cleanser, but honestly, the kaiseki dishes were beautifully presented. ๐Ÿ’ฐ $300+ Ojimi ๐Ÿฑ I went for the sea urchin rice, but the actual portion was quite mini and quaint. It was decent, nothing extraordinary. ๐ŸŒฟ We ordered three dishes ร  la carte, so the price wasn't too steep! I saw they have a tasting menu too. ๐Ÿ’ฐ $70+ #NewYork #SushiAdventures #KaisekiExperience ๐ŸŒ‡๐ŸŒŸ
