Nakaji ๐ฃ This sushi place is rumored to be amazing, but I found it just okay. The toro didn't feel very fresh that day, but the sea urchin was generously portioned! ๐ฟThe chef wasn't as unfriendly as rumored eitherโhe didn't even mind us playing with our phones. The only downside was that most of the dishes were prepared in the kitchen, so the experience wasn't as engaging as I hoped. ๐ฐ $500+ Hakubai ๐ This kaiseki restaurant was a mixed bag. The A5 Wagyu and the final chestnut pie were absolutely delicious! ๐ฟThere was a pleasant surprise with the sweet potato in the rice, but the sea urchin tamago was a missโit had a thick layer of sauce that created a strange texture and flavor. The second-to-last dessert was some kind of palate cleanser, but honestly, the kaiseki dishes were beautifully presented. ๐ฐ $300+ Ojimi ๐ฑ I went for the sea urchin rice, but the actual portion was quite mini and quaint. It was decent, nothing extraordinary. ๐ฟ We ordered three dishes ร la carte, so the price wasn't too steep! I saw they have a tasting menu too. ๐ฐ $70+ #NewYork #SushiAdventures #KaisekiExperience ๐๐
