New York Midtown Japanese Omakase - Zuma 🌟
🌟Zuma feels more like a bar than a traditional Japanese restaurant, so I was a bit worried about the food at first. But I decided to go for the regular omakase, which was $135 per person and shared among the table. 🍣 Some standout dishes were: fried soft-shell crab, seabass sashimi, and the sushi platter (the salmon was super fatty and smooth). 🌟The dessert sampler was amazing too—chocolate lava cake, coconut panna cotta, and the matcha/vanilla/berry ice cream scoops were delicious, though the matcha sponge cake and cheesecake were just okay. 🍨 A few main dishes didn't quite hit the mark for me. The scallops had a bitter taste, and the steak was more like sweet Japanese BBQ—tender and not gamey, but not my favorite. The cod was way too milky and sweet. There were other dishes that were forgettable, but we definitely left full. 🍖 🌟 Overall, it was a good experience, but I wasn't super impressed given the price. #NYCFood #NYCJapanese #NYCOmakase 🌃🌟
