New York Occasional Eats: 886, Tabetomo, Ho Foods 🍔
886 My favorite Taiwanese restaurant just got a menu update, and the quality remains top-notch. I'm particularly fond of the bacon and cabbage stir-fry. 🌟 It's a classic dish, but the chef only recently introduced it after finding a cabbage supplier that met his high standards. Such a pursuit of quality! The only downside is that they no longer offer lunch specials, which would have made the value even better. 🍃 Tabetomo A Tsukemen (dipping noodles) place with a Jiro-style flair. This was my first visit since they reopened, and the acidity in the soup perfectly balanced the pork fat. 🍃 Ho Foods A Taiwanese snack spot. I was craving rice balls and soy milk, but unfortunately, they're not available in the evening. 🍃 The scallion pancakes are great, and the dumplings and braised pork rice are decent, but I still prefer 886's braised pork rice, especially when the chef scoops out the slightly charred bits. #NewYorkFood 🍔 #EatingAndDrinkingAllDay
