New York Oiji Mi 🌟
📍 17 W 19th St, New York, NY 10011 🌺I’ve been wanting to try Oiji for ages because I kept hearing how amazing their sea urchin and sweet shrimp rice is. But the last time I searched, I found out they were temporarily closed, which made me super sad. 😔 Then! A friend told me they had opened a new location, and I couldn’t get here fast enough. Oiji Mi was different from what I expected—it’s a pre-fixed course, and everything except the appetizer is customizable. 🌸 The first appetizer had oysters soaked in pomelo, beef tartare, and foie gras. The flavors went from light to intense, and especially the foie gras with raspberry jam on top—it really whet my appetite. For the second course, my friend and I chose salad and fish, respectively. The flavors were pretty standard. 🍃 The third course! This was the one I was most looking forward to—the sweet shrimp and sea urchin rice! I even added extra uni ☺️ The uni was super fresh, and with the sweet shrimp, it was so satisfying! 🏙️ The sushi rice in the bowl was top-notch, mixed with nori flakes and sushi vinegar. I’d come back just for this course! And personally, I think it’s a bit better than Senya’s sea urchin rice. 🌊 For the fourth course, I had duck and fish. The fish was crispy and fragrant—really delicious. The final dessert was the highlight. The ice cream was incredibly delicious, with a strong milk flavor. It was just a small bite, so it didn’t feel heavy at all. And the crispy pine nut brittle on top was the perfect finishing touch. 🎢 Overall, Oiji is reasonably priced, the quality of the dishes is great, and it’s definitely worth a visit. #NewYork 🌃🌟
