New York Omakase 5๏ธโฃ Summary (1)
ZEN Sushi Omakase 235 Eldridge St, NY 10002 ๐ฐ $89 | 14-course ๐ Best knife skills in town! The fish slices are elegant and naturally curl at the ends, adding a touch of beauty. The sushi rice is perfectly sized, moist but not sticky, and my favorite among these places. The cod rice dish is a delightful surprise with its crispy, salty flavor. I ordered two add-ons, and they were generous in portion. ๐ฝ Great value for an entry-level omakase, though the thin fish and small rice portions might leave you a bit hungry. ๐ฃ Koi Omakase 55 5th Ave, Brooklyn, NY 11217 ๐ฐ $69 | 13-course ๐ The rice is loose and lacks aroma. Near the preparation area, thereโs a large, open, and dirty trash bin that constantly catches your eye, which really kills the appetite. The sushi counter is also not very clean. Skip it unless youโre looking for a deal like the recent $69 for two offer. At that price, itโs a steal, but donโt expect a fine dining experience. ๐ ๐ฝ Shogun Omakase 295 Madison Ave, NY 10017 ๐ฐ $88 | 13-course, $100 | 15-course, $150 | 19-course ๐ Perfect for beginners! I ordered the 19-course and left completely satisfied, almost needing to be carried out! The portions are generous, especially the meat slices, which are huge and incredibly satisfying. ๐ฝ Iโd recommend the 15-course next time as it feels just right. Chef Roy adds so much joy and value with his detailed, humorous, and engaging ingredient introductions. This is the most enjoyable omakase experience among the three places with the same supplier! ๐ #NewYorkOmakase #SushiAdventures #NYC ๐ฝ๐ฃ
