New York One Michelin Star ๐ Jeju Noodle Bar: A Disappointment(2)
โ Wagyu Ramyun $39 This dish has already been flagged as a miss by many. But visiting Jeju and not trying their signature ramen feels like you haven't really been there... ๐ธ Unfortunately, the rich flavor of wagyu beef didn't make it into the broth at all. Plus, the soup was overwhelmingly salty, which was a deal-breaker for this southerner. โญ๏ธ Donkatsu $38 After the previous dishes all turned out to be misses and I hadn't eaten much, I decided to pick something myself while hungry. I chose this medium-cooked fried pork cutlet. ๐ธ The pork cutlet is thick and substantial +1 point The accompanying mushrooms are a bit too salty -1 point The fried edges, paired with the fat, are very juicy and tender +2 points The middle part of the cutlet becomes dry and tough -1 point ๐ธ It comes with an overly sour sweet-and-sour sauce that's poured all over the cutlet, impossible to avoid -1 point... So the total score is a wash = 0 ๐, which means this dish isn't a miss either! Overall evaluation: I won't be going back. And the final bill wasn't exactly pretty. ๐ Jeju Noodle Bar Address: 679 Greenwich St, New York, NY 10014 #MichelinRestaurantVisit #MichelinKoreanCuisine ๐๐
