New York Park is next level‼ It really isn't Japanese⛩
It’s not Kyoto, nor Nara—who would’ve thought New York hides such a serene Japanese garden! Torii gates standing quietly, koi fish gliding lazily in the pond 🐠, winding paths through the courtyard, and a small wooden bridge over the water... Every corner feels so authentically Japanese, like stepping into a peaceful scene from a manga 😍 I visited on October 6th, and the leaves were just starting to turn—some golden, some tinged with red, but not fully ablaze yet. Give it another week or two, and with the maple trees all in fiery red, it must be even more breathtaking! 📍 Japanese Hill-and-Pond Garden It’s tucked inside the Brooklyn Botanic Garden, and getting there is a breeze—subway drops you right nearby. Pro tip: Skip the long walk by cutting through the flower shop in photo 11 (search “Terrain at Brooklyn Botanic Garden” to find it). Walk through the shop, turn left, and in two or three minutes, the garden comes into view—it’s such a time-saver! The whole botanic garden is worth exploring, too. There’s a massive greenhouse that looks like a fairy-tale castle 🏰, with rows of tropical plants inside. Outside, there are flower beds bursting with colors, wide green lawns perfect for sitting, and a little fountain that gurgles softly ⛲️. The air smells like fresh grass and flowers—strolling around, all the stress just melts away. It really feels like a soul cleanse. 💡 Heads up: The garden closes at 6 PM sharp, and they start gently herding people out at 5:30 PM. So don’t wait till the afternoon—go earlier to take your time and soak it all in! #NewYorkTravel #NewYorkLife #NewYorkParks #NewYorkWeekend #NewYorkStudyAbroad #Brooklyn #NewYorkEatsAndPlays #NewYorkSurroundings #NewYorkThingsToDo
