New York Public Library π
Established in 1895, the New York Public Library is the largest public library in the United States. π’π The building and overall space resemble a palatial mansion. The most famous part of the entire structure is Room 315 on the 3rd floor, the Rose Reading Room. It is 90.5 meters long, 23.8 meters wide, and 15.8 meters high. The room is surrounded by open bookshelves, tall windows, and large chandeliers on the ceiling. ππΊ Inside, there are long reading tables and comfortable chairs, with copper lamps on the tables. Additionally, this reading room is one of the largest column-free rooms in the world today. π’πMany movies have used the New York Public Library as a backdrop, including "Spider-Man," "Escape from New York," and "The Wiz," among others. The stone lions at the entrance of the library are now commonly referred to by New Yorkers based on their positions: the one on the left (north) is called "Uptown" (residential area), and the one on the right is called "Downtown" (financial district). ππΊ #NewYork #NewYorkPublicLibrary
