New York Ramen 5 - Kamisama 🍜
Today, I went to a ramen shop near NYU 🗺️. On a weekend noon, it wasn’t too crowded. I ordered the deluxe tonkotsu black garlic 🧄. The picture made it look like a lot, and it really was! I chose it mainly to try the black garlic flavor. Indeed, it was packed with toppings 🥬: lots of bean sprouts, cabbage, three slices of chashu, a whole onsen egg 🥚 (uncut), and some bamboo shoots. The broth was thick and rich, with the flavor of black garlic oil and fresh garlic. It was the strong taste I love! The onsen egg was delicious but a bit salty 🥢. I’m not sure if it’s because I ate slowly, but the noodles felt a bit soft towards the end. By the time I finished, the soup had become a bit too salty 🥺. The alcohol was quite light, but the menu said “beer and sake all you can drink” 🥂, which felt pretty special. Too bad it wasn’t available on weekends 😔.
