New York Restaurant Week | Iconic Michelin Starred Gramercy Tavern

Calling it an “iconic” Michelin-starred restaurant 🧑‍🍳 is no overstatement; since Michelin’s first launch in New York in '05, Danny Meyer’s Gramercy Tavern has consistently held a star, a steady favorite! 🚇 Just a five-minute walk from 14th St Union Sq, and close to two other Michelin-starred spots I’ve tried, Jua and Casa Mono. Stepping into the restaurant feels like wandering into a fairy tale world within New York’s steel jungle, with various green plants, dried flowers, and vines – visually stunning! (pics of the ambiance at the end) 🍽 For Restaurant Week, it’s $60 for a 3-course meal, and the dishes absolutely exceeded expectations! Check out the menu 📸 🥗 Appetizer Beef Carpaccio The slight bitterness of the watercress added a nutty and grassy aroma to the sweet raw beef, the anchovies in the sauce brought a salty kick, and the Gran Padano cheese made the beef’s dairy notes more pronounced. This dish!! We devoured it! Like a whirlwind! Highly recommended! Chilled Lobster Salad Thought it couldn’t top the beef, but whoa!! Meyer lemon is sweeter than regular lemon, with citrus and floral notes that pair perfectly with lobster! The crisp, slightly spicy radish slices enhanced the taste buds’ journey. The green sauce made from Pancresslin is incredibly fitting for subtle seafood like lobster. Layer upon layer of surprises! Recommended 🥘 Main Course HANGER STEAK The addition of Radicchio made the sauce quite bitter to me… but the presentation was beautiful, and the steak was cooked precisely, balancing out the bitterness. Just okay! Roasted Duck Breast & Confit The slow-cooked confit is the soul of this dish, with rich duck meat, balanced by the addition of celery root and chicory. A star-worthy dish, not to be missed! 🍰 Dessert Apple & Quince Tart A deconstructed apple tart with apples that melt in your mouth and a crisp, dry pastry. No exaggeration, this is the best dessert I’ve had in New York in a year, a must-try! Winter Sorbet A bit of a filler dish, three fruit sorbet balls + a cookie 🍪 🍸 Drinks I had a non-alcoholic Winter Soda, with a slight tangy bubble that carries a peppery kick, and the sweet pear softens the spiciness, very refreshing during the meal. The Restaurant Week menu is such a steal! Go eat it all!! I’ll definitely be back!
