New York Restaurant Week | The Bar Room at the Modern 🌟
The Bar Room at the Modern, right next to MOMA, is always a hot spot during Restaurant Week. 🍇 After seeing all the glowing reviews, I finally managed to snag a reservation for a Friday lunch. The $45/pp two-course menu (or $60 for three courses) seemed like a great deal, but honestly, that was pretty much the only highlight. I think I'd rather go to Marseille next time 🤔 For the appetizer, I ordered the Gem lettuce🥗. I saw everyone raving about the version with sturgeon, but by the second week, the menu had switched to Tonnato Sauce. 🍇 Oh well, I guess it was a taste of the "white people food." The other dish, Chilled Tuna, had only the grapefruit standing out; the sashimi was pretty average, and the eggplant puree just didn't quite fit. 🍇 For the main course, I went with rabbit pappardelle and pork belly. Both were quite rich, and even with the modest portions, I couldn't finish them. 🍖 I skipped dessert since nothing on the menu really caught my eye, and from what I heard, they're not particularly amazing either. 🍰 🍇 The big draw is that it shares a kitchen with The Modern⭐⭐, but I didn't really taste anything exceptional. The ambiance is pretty standard, and I don't think I'll be back for the regular menu. On the bright side, the service was good, and the waiter was quite handsome! 😍 #AmbianceRestaurant #NYCRestaurantWeek #FoodieAdventures 🍔
