New York Restaurant Week - Le Jardinier 🌿
For some reason, both of us made such strained faces in front of the camera, but honestly, this was the most satisfying meal so far! 🌟 🎢 The pre-meal bread was a delightful surprise—soft, fragrant, and slightly sweet. The Pork Belly appetizer was amazing (my bold words: it’s as good as the pork ribs from Qiāotóu)! The tomato soup was a bit too cold, which was a bit of a letdown. We always need a warm soup wherever we go. 🍲 🍃 For the main course, we ordered fish and shrimp, both incredibly fresh with creative yet not overpowering flavors. The dessert was quite interesting too. The chocolate had four layers, and the peach had a slight canned flavor. But that green scoop of sorbet was really fun—it tasted like it was made from the kind of leaves you’d find in pho (that’s the best I can describe it). 🍫 🌸 The wine was just okay, so I’d recommend skipping it. Halfway through the meal, we thought we wouldn’t be full, but after finishing the dessert and the complimentary brownie, we felt perfectly satisfied. Plus, eavesdropping on the exciting first-date conversation at the next table made the experience even more entertaining. 🥧 🌊 We didn’t plan to come here at first, but when our friend mentioned that it usually costs over $120 per person, we immediately decided to go. I guess I’ve mastered the essence of Restaurant Week: it’s not about eating the best food, but about enjoying the most expensive places we usually can’t afford. So, if you have any other fancy restaurants to recommend for Restaurant Week, let me know! 🌆 🏙️ #NewYorkRestaurantWeek #HiddenRestaurantGem 🌟
