New York Restaurant Week at Nougatine by Jean-Georges(2) π
Angel Hair π Like a tomato broth with thin noodles, topped with a bit of fresh mozzarella and the occasional pepper ring. Hhh, isn't this just a home-cooked meal? π If you're looking for something that looks and tastes fancy, you might want to skip this. But I have to say, the flavor is genuinely great, especially on a hot day. π€οΈ Dessert: Warm Chocolate Cake Delicious! In terms of sweetness, it's chocolate cake < blueberry < peach. Surprisingly, the chocolate cake isn't as sweet as you'd expect. It has a warm, comforting texture, with a slightly salty caramel ice cream on the side and a base that tastes like Oreo crumbs. π The combination is perfect β none of it is overly sweet. π« We also ordered from the regular menu: Tuna Tartar I followed the trend and ordered this. It tastes good, but I couldn't really tell the difference from other places, so four stars. π£ Foie Gras CrΓ¨me BrΓ»lΓ©e πThe top layer is strawberries, followed by a caramel crisp, then a layer of sous-vide foie gras, and I'm not sure what the bottom layer is, but it's slightly overcooked, which doesn't really matter. The sauce is a mix of strawberry jam and aged vinegar. I seem to have a particular interest in high-fat foods paired with sweet flavors. The sweet and sour combination cuts through the richness, and I really love it! π The portion size was just right for me today, and I can still savor the flavors afterward. π I really like the JG series and am considering trying their tasting menu soon. π #NewYork #NewYorkEats ππ
