New York Shogun Omakase ๐ฃ
Nigiri: ๐ Overall, I really enjoyed it. Each piece of nigiri here is anything but ordinary or monotonous. Every bite feels like a pleasant surprise. The ingredients are absolutely freshโsea urchin, scallops, and sweet shrimp are all incredibly sweet and fresh. ๐ข A few standout combinations include: sea urchin and sweet shrimp, a delightful blend of sweetness and creaminess. Black cod, after being torched, melts in your mouth and releases a burst of rich, savory flavors. ๐ Tuna with black truffle, and large pieces of sea urchin hand rolls and eel with foie gras. The only minor drawback was that the sushi rice felt a bit sparse and the shape was too slender, making it look less plump. ๐ The final course featured wagyu beef prepared three ways, each paired with sea urchin, foie gras, and caviar. The generous use of ingredients made it feel like a truly heartfelt experience. The traditional dessert, matcha tiramisu, was on par with what youโd find in mid-to-high-end dessert shops. ๐ฐ ๐ธOverall, it was a very happy and satisfying meal. The fresh ingredients and thoughtful seasoning easily surpassed most omakase experiences. The sushi chef even noticed we were celebrating a birthday and kindly gifted us a small bottle of sake. ๐ฅ ๐ 295 Madison Ave #101G, New York, NY 10017 #NewYork #Manhattan #Flushing #Midtown #JapaneseCuisine ๐
