🥟 Giew Moo Tom Yum Tom Yum Fried Wontons. The stir-fried Tom Yum spices are a first for me, and they’re so flavorful that anyone who loves bold flavors won’t be able to stop! 🌶️ 🍚 Khao Hor Bai Bua I cried with joy over how delicious this was! This is a lotus leaf-wrapped rice dish, similar to the cuisine from the areas near Yunnan in China and Thailand. It feels like a fusion of Chinese and Peranakan flavors, making it a rare dish that feels like home for both northerners and southerners. 🍔 The lotus leaf rice is perfectly cooked, just like the street food I used to enjoy in Chiang Mai. The ingredients are super rich, with shrimp, sausage, salted egg yolk, mushrooms, lotus root slices, and even ginkgo nuts! 🌸 🐔 Khao Tom Haeng 🍔This is a rice dish cooked in a rich broth, which you can think of as Phuket-style congee. It comes with a bowl of broth and a tangy, spicy sauce on the side, so you can adjust the humidity and spiciness to your liking. It’s so thoughtful! I’ve never had this dish anywhere outside of Phuket or Malaysia. 🥢 🍖 Gaeng Hung Lay Nuar Northern Thai Curry with slow-cooked pork ribs, and the portion is huge! This dish is a bit sweeter and more Americanized. 🌆 #NYCFoodie #NYCLife 🌺
