New York Surroundings π 1-hour away from Grace Farms
π A feast of autumn light and shadows Finally made it to the long-awaited Grace Farms! Not sure if itβs the peak season, but the maple leaves are truly enchanting! The golden, green, and red hues, mingling with the blue sky and white clouds, resemble an autumnal palette π¨ π©· Designed by a Japanese architect, the integration of natural landscapes and human creativity is remarkable. Every corner is a sight to behold, and the space is filled with creative activity areas. Absolutely in love with it! π©΅ The Welcome Center leads to 5 main venues: the Tea Tasting Room π΅, Commons cafeteria, library, basketball court π, and auditorium. The Tea Tasting Room offers free tastings and constantly changes flavors with introductions. The library is a cozy place for reading and working. The court is great for basketball and badminton. The auditorium is not accessible, but its exterior is stunning! π± The cafeteria serves simple meals with a menu that changes according to the seasonal ingredients. We tried the grilled cheese sandwich π₯ͺ and turkey sandwich, both rich in flavors and ingredients! Also had the tomato vegetable soup and cauliflower cream soup, both warm and delicious! Each sandwich comes with buttery popcorn π½, salty and tasty. The coffee is affordable and you can add various milks, like oat milk, for free and get refills! The pastries are more suited to American tastes, with the muffins containing carrots, pumpkins, corn, walnuts, and pumpkin seedsβ¦ nutritious but a bit ordinary compared to the main meals. β°οΈ Hiking enthusiasts can explore the trails outside, less than a mile but with stunning scenery! In autumn, the maple viewing is a must-see, with various trees and adorable ponds. πΈ The best photo spots are at the entrance of the Tea Tasting Room and the metal bean chairs at the entrance of the auditorium, which look fantastic against the farmβs curved backdrop! π« Admission: Free π but requires advance reservation on the official website! They host many events throughout the year, like hiking and illustration classes, which are paid and can be registered for in advance. π Transportation: From Grand Central, take the train towards New Haven and get off at Stamford β> Transfer at the same station and take the train to New Canaan, the final stop β> Get off and call an Uber to Grace Farm! Itβs very convenient and car-free friendly. Just remember to book your ride early, as sometimes there can be a long wait! #MakingTheMostOfEveryWeekend #NewYorkLife #NewYorkFood #NewYork #ArtExhibitions #NewYorkSurroundings #NewYorkWeekendTrips #NewYorkWeekend #NewYorkEatingAndPlaying #WhereToPlayInNewYork
