New York Weekend | A Hidden Art Cafe in the Bustling Chinatown 🧶
With the temperature in New York dropping sharply, it’s perfect for spending a weekend day indoors, basking in the warmth of the heater while doing handicrafts and chatting ♨️ This time, I chose paint-a-pot, where you can pick from cups, plates, and bowls, priced at $28 plus the marked price of the ceramics (mostly around$20-40). You can book your time slot online in advance, and there will be a ~$16 cancellation fee plus tax. 🌟I suggest picking a less popular time slot. We booked Sunday from 4:30-6:30 PM, and since it was pretty empty later in the evening, they said we could stay as long as we wanted if we didn’t finish. 🌟After finishing, you scan a QR code to take a photo of your creation. It usually takes about one to two weeks to be fired, and you’ll receive an email notification to pick it up within a month. 🌟As someone with zero art skills, I went in with no preparation and just started painting. I recommend picking out your pattern design in advance; otherwise, you might end up with a very patchwork look like mine. 🌟A few tips: The fired colors will be much brighter than they look after painting, so don’t apply too heavily. The staff suggests not applying more than 3 layers; personally, I think one to two layers look the best. You can sketch with a pencil first; the lines won’t be visible after firing. You can ask the staff for an extra fine brush. #SnapshotsOfMyLife #NewYorkLife #NewYorkWeekendActivities #HandicraftsDaily #NewYorkExploration #RomanticLifeDocumenter #DIYHandicrafts #NewYork #NewYorkPottery #MyArtfulLife
