New York West Village Leitao 🌟

🏙️Today, I want to share a restaurant in the West Village area—Leitao! It’s a Portuguese restaurant, and I originally went there for their famous Portuguese egg tarts. I was craving egg tarts those days but didn’t want to settle for just any bakery, so I searched all over New York and found Leitao. 🥧 The reservation isn’t too hard to get; booking 3-5 days in advance should be just fine. 🍃 The Octopus Salad is quite refreshing, and the octopus is pretty fresh. The snails were decent, nothing too special. I didn’t try the lamb chops because I’m not a fan of lamb, but my friend said they were delicious and very tender! 🍖 The Seafood Paella was amazing!! It was super flavorful and fresh. The rice was perfectly cooked, with each grain distinct yet adding a unique flavor to the dish. The shrimp were plump and juicy—I highly recommend it! 🍤 🌊 The highlight of the visit was the egg tart! I have to warn everyone that it comes with a lot of cinnamon powder on top. If you’re not a fan of cinnamon, make sure to let the waiter know in advance! When it was served, I was taken aback by the overwhelming cinnamon aroma. The tart crust was flaky and well-layered, and the filling was smooth and clearly freshly baked. However, it was a bit too sweet for my taste. Maybe I had high expectations for the egg tart, so I was a little disappointed, but the flavor is still good! 🥧 🌸 The cocktail was also nice! The passion fruit was perfectly balanced with the base liquor, creating a delightful sweet and sour taste. 🍹 🎢Overall, Leitao’s seafood paella was a pleasant surprise, and the egg tart was up to standard, except for the cinnamon powder, which was unexpected. I might visit again but will definitely ask the chef to omit the cinnamon. #NewYork 🌆🌟
