New York World Trade Center Transportation Hub 🌸 “A Masterstroke”(1)
The New York World Trade Center Transportation Hub! 🎢🍃 Designed by Santiago Calatrava, the architect from Gaudí's homeland of Spain, it cost 4 billion US dollars and took 12 years to build, finally being completed in 2016. The design concept is called the “Oculus,” inspired by a child releasing a dove. The white structure stands among the skyscrapers of the Financial District, including the World Trade Center Tower 1. 🎢🍃 The entire building has an astonishing bird - like structure. Its unique shape was rated by CNN as one of the top 9 new landmarks in 2016. The bird - like, sculptural form stands out among the geometric high - rise buildings, becoming the best regulator in a dull environment. 🌿🌟 The glass between the ribs can let in natural light to illuminate the entire building. On September 11th every year, and briefly in spring and autumn, the movable “eye” - like canopy opens towards the sky. #NewYork 🗽
