New York Yakitori Recommendations! ๐
When it comes to gathering with friends, an izakaya is the perfect spot. Recently, I discovered two fantastic yakitori izakayas in New York that I just have to share! ๐ ๐ Izakaya Toribar The value for money here is truly unbeatable! ๐ We were a group of four and, being quite hungry, we ordered a lot. Surprisingly, the final bill wasn't outrageous at all. The highlight is that you can choose between salt-grilled or sauce-grilled yakitoriโeveryone can pick according to their taste. Some skewers are better salt-grilled, while others shine with the sauce. The variety of yakitori is extensive; you'll find whatever you're craving here. ๐ ๐๏ธ I personally found all the skewers to be delicious. However, there are a few items you might want to skip: the grilled chicken breast can be a bit dry, and the grilled fish is pretty average. The cocktails are also just okay; opting for Japanese shochu might be a better choice. ๐ธ The okonomiyaki is a must-tryโit's delicious! The only downside is the lack of a dessert menu, which might leave dessert lovers a bit disappointed. ๐ ๐ Yakitori Totto This place has a slightly smaller selection compared to the first, but the flavors are all fantastic! I highly recommend the green pepper meatballs, eel, and chicken liverโthey're all incredibly delicious. For the appetizer, we chose this tofu, and the dessert was quite interesting: cold ice cream paired with hot matcha sauce. The contrast in temperatures makes for a delightful experience. ๐จ๐ต ๐๏ธ Both of these places offer reservations, and it's not difficult to book. I recommend making a reservation before you go to ensure a spot. ๐ #NewYorkLife #NYCFood #NYCJapanese Cuisine ๐
