Nha Trang, Vietnam – A Hidden, Budget-Friendly Island City That Heals

Itinerary: Day 1⃣️: Morning boat trip to Hon Tam Island – Snorkeling – Mud bath – Seafood buffet Depart from the pier → Snorkeling near Hon Tam Island → Hon Tam Island (30-minute boat ride) The sea in Nha Trang is incredibly clean and crystal-clear, truly a healing experience! 🌊 Hon Tam Island is a commercialized island with well-planned facilities. In the afternoon, we had a seafood buffet on the island, which was just okay, but there was a wide variety of fruits, and you could eat to your heart's content. 🍉🍍 Day 2⃣️: Nha Trang Cathedral → Po Nagar Cham Towers → Hon Chong Promontory You can only view Nha Trang Cathedral from the outside; it's not open for entry. At Po Nagar Cham Towers, dedicated to the goddess Thiên Y A Na, the architecture has a bit of an Angkor Wat feel—great for photos! 📸 Hon Chong Promontory is a granite coastal park, perfect for snapping more pictures! 🌄 Day 3⃣️: Paradise Bay (Fairyland Bay) → Fruit Feast Honestly, Paradise Bay wasn’t great—undeveloped, with few trees and lots of sun. Plus, we got stuck in a huge traffic jam due to the Vietnamese New Year 🛑. Food: There are plenty of local Vietnamese snacks to try: clay tile BBQ, Vietnamese pho 🍜, spring rolls, baguettes 🥖, mango, kiwi, and durian smoothies 🥭. If you stay near the city center, there's a night market street with lots of food options. But keep in mind that prices aren’t super cheap—Nha Trang feels like a tourist city with lots of Chinese, Russian, and Korean visitors. 🏠 Accommodation: We stayed at Queen Ann Hotel, a twin-bed suite (300 RMB/night during Lunar New Year) with sea views and an infinity pool. There are also plenty of 5-star beach hotels to choose from nearby. 🏖️ 🚖 Transportation: Use the Grab app for getting around; it’s super convenient.
