North America Food Exploration | Dayton Thai Cuisine at Singha Thai
After living in Dayton for a while, I’d been wanting to find a good Thai restaurant near my place—and finally, I discovered Singha Thai! I dragged a friend to the restaurant on the weekend, and from the moment I walked in to the end of the meal, the whole experience hit the spot for my "Thai food craving." The only small downside was that the Thai iced tea was a bit too sweet, but it didn’t affect my positive impression at all~😋 The restaurant is easy to find, located at 4123 W Town and Country Rd, Kettering, OH 45429. There’s plenty of parking right outside, so no stress about hunting for a spot🅿️ The interior has a simple Southeast Asian style—warm yellow lights paired with Thai murals on the walls instantly gave off a "eating noodles on a Bangkok street corner" vibe. Shortly after sitting down, the waiter brought out free shrimp crackers, which were crispy and super appetizing~ When the highly anticipated Pad Thai (Thai Stir-Fried Rice Noodles) arrived, the aroma filled the table immediately! As I mixed it with chopsticks, I could see shredded eggs, crushed peanuts, bean sprouts, and rice noodles evenly coated in sauce. The first bite blew me away with its sweet-savory flavor—unlike the sweeter Pad Thai I’d had before, this one was more on the tangy side. The sourness was fresh and not overwhelming, perfectly balancing the richness of the noodles. I ate several bites in a row without getting tired of it, and the shrimp inside were fresh and chewy🍤 The Thai iced tea came in a clear glass with amber liquid and a light layer of milk foam on top—super visually appealing! But the first sip revealed it was a bit too sweet; friends who don’t like overly sweet drinks can ask the waiter for "less sugar" in advance~ Still, the cold Thai iced tea paired with the spicy-sour dishes worked well to cut through the greasiness. One bite of noodles, one sip of tea—it was a great combination☕ Besides the signature Pad Thai, we also ordered green curry chicken. The chicken was tender and flavorful, the curry sauce was just the right thickness, and it went perfectly with rice—I could finish half a bowl just by mixing it with curry! There were also plenty of vegetables; eggplants and bell peppers soaked up the curry sauce, making every bite rich in flavor~ When we checked the bill, the prices were affordable too, around $20 per person—great value for money💯 If you live in Dayton or nearby Kettering and want Thai food without traveling far, Singha Thai is definitely worth a try! Whether it’s a weekday lunch or a weekend get-together, it’ll satisfy your craving for Southeast Asian flavors. Next time, I plan to try their tom yum soup—I’ve heard it’s authentic too~ #NorthAmericaFood #DaytonFoodie #ThaiFoodRecommendation #SinghaThai #OhioEats #SoutheastAsianFlavors
