North Beach First Fridays Is Back This Weekend With A Holiday Night Market, Art Shows, And Live Music
On the first Friday of every month, North Beach hosts a neighborhood celebration featuring art, music, and the numerous local businesses that call the neighborhood home. First Fridays regularly draw large crowds who want to explore the area on Friday evenings, complete with poetry readings, gallery shows, live music, and many more events showcasing everything the neighborhood has to offer. For December, First Fridays promises to be as fun as usual, but with an extra holiday addition . Along with the usual festivities, you can also expect a holiday market this Friday, December 5 , in the neighborhood. The fun typically starts at 5 pm and runs until approximately 10 pm, with bars hosting music later in the evening. Some highlights on the schedule for this month’s event include a candle-making activity with P.F. Candle Co., a *Dear San Francisco* open house and tour at the iconic Club Fugazi, and even a poetry club meeting at Coit Tower. You can also expect live music at Caffe Trieste from 5 to 8:30 pm, and a group art show at Vesuvio. French bar Paris 75 will host live jazz , and art gallery Fish Tank will host a North Beach screen-printing release. Meanwhile, on Grant Avenue, you can expect the street to be shut down for the holiday night market , which will run from 5 to 10 pm . The neighborhood night market started in May this year, and this Friday will be the last of the year. You can expect numerous local vendors to line the Grant Avenue between Vallejo and Filbert Street.
