A mixed bag of hits and misses this month — here’s my honest food diary: 🇫🇷 Côte Ouest Bistro – SF $60 Restaurant Week dinner – excellent execution! 🥩 Perfect medium-rare steak with crispy fries 🍚 Scallop risotto – cheesy, rich, yet balanced 🍮 Crème brûlée & chocolate lava cake – not overly sweet Great for a French fix with friends. 🦀 Crustacean – SF "High-end Vietnamese" during Restaurant Week? More like highway robbery. 🥗 Underseasoned salad, tiny mains 🦀 Added crab noodles — fragrant but forgettable Blacklisted ❌ 🍖 Saucy Mama's – Guerneville Southern comfort done right! 🍖 Juicy, tender beef ribs 🍛 Incredible jambalaya 🥓 BBQ pork ribs & pork belly – huge portions, so satisfying Worth the drive! 🥪 Krispy Joe’s Coffee House – Oakland Pastrami sandwich — decent but didn’t live up to the hype. 🌮 Taco Truck – Hayward Tried the Torta — meat tucked inside crispy melted cheese 🧀😋. Still team burrito though! 🇵🇭 Tselogs – Daly City Filipino flavors that shine: 🐖 Lechon kare kare – crispy pork belly, not greasy 🍜 Pancit – full of wok hei 🐔 Chicken sisig takeout – simple and delicious 🇵🇭 Fil-am – Daly City Cash-only, takeout-only gem 💎! 🍢 $4 BBQ skewers (chicken > beef) 🍛 $9 beef galbi jjim-style plate – tender, fall-off-the-bone, homestyle goodness 🇯🇵 Ushiya – Milpitas Portions shrank, heat low, grilling struggle — not like before 😔 🍢 Milpitas $1 red willow lamb skewers — still unbeatable 🙌 🇻🇳 Pho Ha Noi – Fremont Beef rib pho = forever legendary 🍜✨ #BayAreaEats #SFRestaurantWeek #FoodDiary #BayAreaFoodie #VietnameseFood #FilipinoFood #ComfortFood #HitOrMiss #EatLocal #NoRegrets
