NYC’s Exquisite Japanese Teishoku — Monkfish Liver Surprise! 🍱✨
Heard mixed reviews about this LIC Japanese teishoku spot, but gave it a try with a friend—and it was delicious! Only downsides: pricey and portions are small. Teishoku sets let you pick one protein + one staple. We chose: 🐟 Steamed Madai & Miso Cod – Both fish were tender and delicate. 🌟 The real star was the sides: monkfish liver (!), pickled cucumber, eggplant, and radish—just like homemade Japanese sides. For the staple, we had Japanese takikomi rice cooked with kelp broth, shiitake, and burdock—so flavorful! 🍚 One staple was upgraded to Bluefin tuna sashimi bowl (+$28)—fresh but not necessary. I actually preferred the original rice. Total was around $50/person. Skip the upgrade to keep it more affordable! 📍 Honzen 37-12 31st Ave, Long Island City, NY 11103 #NYCTeishoku #JapaneseFood #LICEats #FineDining 🥢😋🎌
