NYC’s Grandma’s Home Braised Pork Made My Mouth Water! 🍖🤤

Heard back in early March that Grandma’s Home was coming to NYC—my last meal in Beijing before flying to the U.S. was actually at this chain! Now it’s finally here in Manhattan. 🏮✈️ The vibe is classic Jiangnan-style, cozy and nostalgic… though I did wonder why most servers were local! 😄 👉 Simmered Peppercorn Beef Tender beef slices in a numbing Sichuan peppercorn broth with crisp bamboo shoots. Ate a hidden chili by accident—spicy wake-up call! 🌶️🥘 👉 Hong Shao Rou (Braised Pork Belly) Incredibly soft, melt-in-your-mouth pork with savory bamboo shoots. Served with lotus leaf buns—just wish there were more than three! 🍖🌿 👉 Steamed Whole Striped Bass with Scallion Oil Fresh, delicate sea bass with minimal bones—flaky, tender, and perfect with the scallion-infused sauce. 🐟💚 👉 You Tiao Shrimp Crispy fried dough sticks stuffed with shrimp, coated in creamy mayo—crunchy and rich! 🦐✨ Dessert: 🍡 Sesame Balls – two crispy sesame shells filled with lightly sweet green tea paste. Careful—they’re hot inside! 🌿 Also got free qingtuan (green rice balls) for Qingming Festival—a sweet seasonal treat. 📍 Grandma’s Home 56 W 22nd St, New York, NY 10010 💵 ~$60 per person #NYCEats #ChineseFood #GrandmasHome #ComfortFood #NYCFoodie #BraisedPork #MatataEats #NYCDining #NewInTown #NostalgicFlavors #MustTryNYC #FoodieJoy
