NYC|A Taste of Beijing with Fresh Crawfish 🦞 & Spicy Offal Stir-Fry!

🍴 Lesia 📍 651 9th Ave, New York, NY 10036 This is one of the few Beijing-style restaurants I’ve found in NYC. I didn’t try their Mongolian hotpot this time, but friends say it’s one of the most authentic in the city, with a spot-on sesame sauce. They also serve classic Beijing dishes like shaobing with pork knuckle and luzhu (stewed organs)—definitely on my list for next time! We came craving bold flavors and ordered a feast. Here are some highlights: 🦐 Garlic Crawfish Fresh crawfish in NYC—already a win! The garlic sauce was aromatic but not overpowering, and the meat was firm and juicy. So satisfying to peel and eat. 🔥 Grilled Squid Tentacles Out of their many BBQ options, the squid tentacles were the standout—crispy-edged, seasoned with cumin, giving serious night-market vibes. 🥘 Beef Tendon & Brisket Stew A hearty pot packed with tender beef tendon, brisket, tofu skins, and napa cabbage in a savory, slightly spicy broth. Perfect for sharing on a cold day or with rice. 🧄 Salted Egg Yolk Shrimp with Handmade Rice Cakes A newer menu item we tried and loved. Plump shrimp, soft and chewy rice cakes, all coated in rich salted egg yolk sauce—not greasy at all. 🥄 Stir-Fried Liver & Intestines Our first time trying this Northern classic! Pork liver and intestines in a thick, intense gravy—definitely an adventure for us Southerners, but a must-try for offal lovers. 🍜 Zhajiangmian (Beijing Noodles) A huge portion! The fried soybean paste is salty on its own but balances perfectly with the chewy noodles. Super comforting. We visited on a weekday evening, and it was nearly full by 6:30pm. Overall, a solid spot for generous portions, hearty flavors, and a satisfying, nostalgia-triggering meal. #FoodieLife #NYCFood #NYCExploration #NYCChineseFood #Crawfish #NYC #NorthernChineseCuisine #NYCStudent #NYCRestaurants #NYCLife #BeijingFood #ChineseEats #NYCBBQ #BeijingCuisineNYC #ComfortFood
