NYC|The Miso Soup That Thrilled a Cantonese Heart 🐟✨
Earlier this year, Kintsugi’s Restaurant Week deal was $60/pp and impossible to book. This time, switching to Tock made it way easier to snag a seat! 💰 12 courses + dessert at this price feels generous—usually it’s triple digits, right? 🐟 The fish and scallops were fresh and plump, seasoned lightly to let their natural sweetness shine. A few dishes featured yuzu or citrus accents 🍋—bright and refreshing. One with green pepper 🫑 wasn’t my favorite, but still interesting. 🍣 One standout was a fish roll with ginger inside—sounded odd but tasted amazing! Crisp, fragrant, and totally surprising. 🍚 The sushi rice was slightly dry and loose—maybe a style choice? Some might prefer it less moist. 🥣 The Miso Soup looked plain but blew me away! The white fish inside had a texture just like Cantonese —bouncy, firm, and curled beautifully. I finished every last drop, broth and all 😋. 🍽️ The space is intimate, seating only about 10 people. Our Friday lunch had just two couples. They keep it to an hour, and the chef works quickly—barely time to chat between bites! 🍵 Dessert was matcha ice cream—rich, not too sweet, and a lovely finish. We were done in under 55 minutes. A fresh, clean, and satisfying omakase experience! Heard Kintsugi is changing its menu soon… really hope this miso soup stays a little longer 🥲. 📍 Kintsugi Omakase #NYC #Omakase #Sushi #MisoSoup #NYCEats #JapaneseFood #RestaurantWeek #FoodieFinds #NYCRestaurants
