NYC's Free Outdoor Public Pools Open Sooner Than You Think

Unfortunately, NYC’s outdoor public pools won’t be open this weekend to cool off in, and you’ll have to wait one more week . The city’s pools are set to open for the 2025 summer season next Friday, June 27th , according to the Department of Parks and Recreation. Even with preparation well underway across the boroughs in terms of cleaning, repainting, and overall tidying up, officials said the pools won’t be able to open ahead of schedule for this weekend’s insanely hot spell .
