NYC | 7-Year Local’s Guide: 4 Grilled Intestine Spots Compared & Rank

It’s grilled intestine season—my favorite! After 7 years in NYC, I’ve tried them all 🥹. Here’s my take on 4 popular spots: 1️⃣ Gopchang Story ❤️‍🔥 The OG intestine specialist—still my top pick! Locations in NYC & NJ. Their secret seasoning is incredible: flavorful but not heavy, and the intestines are cleaned perfectly . Even better than the grilled intestines? The fried rice cooked in the leftover drippings, mixed with egg, seaweed, and cheese—absolutely heavenly 🤤. First-timers can try the combo, but I prefer the all-large-intestine version! 2️⃣ Jongro Gopchang Many love it, but it didn’t wow me 🥲. The original seasoning is too light, so th comes through; the spicy version is better but still not as tasty as Gopchang Story. 3️⃣ Ahgassi Gopchang A newer spot with a wide variety of cuts—including rare parts like heart, tripe, and omasum. Very fresh ingredients! However, the seasoning is heavy and oily, so it gets quickly. Great for trying different parts, though! 4️⃣ Soosanghan Pocha (Fort Lee) A pocha often recommended for intestines, but I was disappointed 💣. The grilled intestines were dry, lacked aroma, and didn’t have that juicy, satisfying That’s it for my 7-year NYC foodie series (Part 3)!
