NYC | Delmonico's & A Rainy Day Food Tour 🥩🍔

Finally visited the legendary Delmonico's – stepping inside felt like being transported to old New York, though the exterior strangely reminded me of Shanghai’s Wukang Building! 🏛️ The crab cake and thick-cut bacon were surprising highlights – tender, slightly sweet, and almost like melt-in-your-mouth pork belly. 😋 As for the famous steak? It was decent, but honestly, I’ve had better in Shanghai – at least it wasn’t overwhelmingly salty like so many American dishes tend to be. And whoever called this place “the father of American fine dining” might have been slightly overstating it... We also braved the rain and long lines for the viral Spider-Man pizza 🍕 – only to be hit with a salt bomb in the first bite! 😅 On the bright side, the lobster roll near the New York Stock Exchange was a delicious surprise – buttery, fresh, and perfectly satisfying. Then came Eileen’s Cheesecake – maybe my expectations were too high, but I prefer my cheesecake richer and creamier. This one was just okay. A little sad we didn’t make it to a Jazz Club 🎷 – leaving in that gusty wind took all the courage we had! 💨 Missing Shanghai a little extra today… #NYCEats #DelmonicosNYC #FoodDiary #NYCFoodTour #NYCLife
