NYC | ICHIRAN Ramen NY Times Square: Worth It?(2)
• Topping Set:🌸 It includes a soft-boiled egg, two slices of chashu, scallions, wood ear mushrooms, and nori. The egg is perfectly soft-boiled, though you have to peel it yourself. 🍃 The nori is quite fragrant. I really don’t need to order the topping set next time; it’s neither impressive nor disappointing, but it adds two more slices of the peculiar pork. The ramen already has three slices of chashu with that odd flavor. At most, I’d order just the egg separately. 🏙️ • MATCHA PUDDING: 🎢 It’s really good, rich but not too sweet, and delicious. The texture is unexpected; it’s not jelly-like but more like a smooth mousse. It looks and tastes like an almond jelly with a touch of grass jelly, and the garnish is the finishing touch. I really love their ramen spoons; they sit steadily on the edge of the bowl without the soup dripping onto the handle. It’s so soothing for my OCD. 🌊 Ichiran Ramen in New York is more expensive than most noodle shops. The Classic Tonkotsu Ramen + Toppings Set combo cost $33.21. The pudding was $10.34.
