NYC | Sushi Amane 🍣
Hidden in the basement of Mifune, it’s a bit tricky to find and very discreet. Booking here wasn’t too difficult; maybe its popularity has cooled down a bit. 🍃 We managed to get a reservation two or three days in advance. The entire place has only eight seats, but there are two or three servers, so the service is really attentive. 🌸 The omakase is $230 per person, and it’s quite comprehensive. The variety of fish is impressive. I didn’t get a photo of the tuna pickle hand roll, but the seasoning was just right. 🎢 There was also the sea urchin sushi; the sea urchin was deliciously sweet and plump (it looked so amazing that I ate it right away and forgot to take a photo 😅). 🏙️However, I felt the sushi wasn’t very tightly packed, and it was a bit too moist with a higher temperature. I noticed the chef would deliberately dip his hands in water before making each piece, maybe it’s his personal style? But it wasn’t my favorite style. I was a bit worried that the sushi would fall apart when I picked it up (though it didn’t, since it’s not a cheap omakase). But the fish was fresh, and the seasoning was spot on. The service was also great. 🌊 Overall, it’s a good choice for friends who want to enjoy omakase on a whim without settling for a cheaper option. #NewYork #NYCSushi
