NYC → Montreal Solo Weekend Trip 🍁✈️
I chased the last colors of fall on a early November weekend with a quick solo escape from New York to Montreal—and it was everything my city-soul needed! Here’s how it went down: ✈️ Smooth Travels Caught an early Delta flight at 7:05 AM from LGA, landed at YUL by 8:37 AM—actually, we arrived early! 🕗 Immigration was a breeze, giving me a whole extra hour to start exploring. 😄 🏨 Chic & Central Stay Checked into Hôtel AC Montréal Centre-ville—just 20 minutes from the airport by cab. Dropped my bags off fast, and wow, the room was spacious and stylish. Highly recommend! 🧳🛏️ 🚶 Day 1 Walking Tour (Refer to Map) 1️⃣ Mary Queen of the World Cathedral A 10-minute walk from the hotel. Spent 10-15 mins inside—so peaceful and grand! ⛪✨ 2️⃣ Aritzia + Lunch Killed some time shopping at Aritzia 🛍️, then headed to Haidilao Hotpot at 11 AM 🍲—because why not? Not in a hotpot mood? Bar George nearby is a classy alternative! 3️⃣ Montreal Museum of Fine Arts Arrived around 12:15 PM. Followed the map and explored: Started at the Pavilion of Masterworks (Red) Moved to the Pavilion of Modern Art (Purple), top to bottom 🎨 Wrapped up with the Green & Orange Pavilions via the underground passage Took about 2.5 hours—but if you're short on time, just do the Purple Pavilion! 4️⃣ Kondiaronk Belvedere, Mount Royal Walked 30 mins to this epic viewpoint overlooking Montreal (photo-worthy! 📸). Café and restrooms available—perfect for a quick break. 5️⃣ Beaver Lake Another 20-min stroll to this serene spot. More beautiful views, another café, more photos 🍂💧 6️⃣ Saint Joseph’s Oratory Arrived by 4:40 PM. Pro tip: enter through the right-side vehicle gate, head to the Welcome Center, take the escalator up to the chapel, then walk down the stone stairs for golden-hour views 🌅🙏 7️⃣ Dinner at Monarque Headed out around 6 PM, took a cab (weekend traffic is real!), and made it to Monarque by 6:40 PM. Ordered the Bone Marrow & Snails + Duck Confit—so delicious! 🦆🍷 8️⃣ Berlin Wall Detour On the way back to the hotel, passed the Berlin Wall segment inside World Trade Centre Montréal—a cool, unexpected historic moment. 🧱❄️ What a day—art, nature, food, and history, all wrapped into one beautiful solo adventure! Montreal, you’ve stolen a piece of my heart. 💖 #MontrealTravel #WeekendGetaway #SoloTravel #FallInMontreal #MontrealFood #TravelDiaries #Wanderlust
