NYC 🍴|Michelin-Star Italian in a Five-Star Hotel (Formerly ⭐)

Back in NYC, cold weather and work stress called for a treat! Booked Ai Fiori last minute—plenty of tables available. 🍴 Ai Fiori Located inside The Langham, Fifth Avenue. The entrance leads to a bar, but the dining area is calm and elegant. Service and ambiance are lovely. They used to hold a Michelin star (reportedly lost it in 2022–2023). 🍞 Bread service was thoughtful: focaccia and a baguette served with a garlicky hummus-like spread. Both savory—perfect for dipping into sauces later. 🥚 Poached Egg – Perfectly runny yolk topped with cheese, served with a tomato-based vegetable stew. Savory, comforting, and very Chinese-palate-friendly. 🍲 Chilled Soup – Looked creamy but was light and refreshing—a nice starter. 🥩 Short Rib – Fall-apart tender! No knife needed. Rich and flavorful, though a bit salty. The beans on the side absorbed the braising sauce beautifully. 🍮 Desserts were the only letdown: 🍰 Tiramisu – Not classic; more like a sweet mousse, overly sugary. ☕ Affogato – Coffee was too mild, didn’t stand out. 🍋 Post-meal mini madeleines were pleasant—hints of lemon and butter. Overall, Ai Fiori is worth a visit. Solid food, excellent service and setting, and conveniently located near Ktown. A nice choice for a refined meal without the Michelin-star price tag. #FoodLife #ItalianCuisine #NYC #NYCFood #NYCExploration #NYCLife #NYCItalian #RestaurantWeek #MichelinDining #NYCMichelin #FineDiningNYC #AiFiori #NYCEats #LuxuryDining #TreatYourself
