NYC Bakeries | Delicious Carbs, Randomly Distributed 🥐💫
These are all spots I’ve revisited (and will revisit again)—because when the carbs are this good, loyalty comes easy. 📍 La Bicyclette Bakery (667 Driggs Ave, Brooklyn) A seasoned French bakery with four locations. While their pastries can be soft, their breads are solid and fairly priced. Pain Sportif ($5): Loaded with nuts and seeds—moist, chewy, and deeply satisfying. Label Rouge Baguette ($2): Crisp, crackly, and perfect on its own. A steal! Pavé ($6): Slow-fermented for four days—rustic, flavorful, with a lovely crumb. Blueberry Financier ($3): Sweet, but the caramelized edges make it worth it. 📍 Bibble & Sip (253 W 51st St, Manhattan) My personal #1 for cream puffs in NYC! The shells never disappoint. Jasmine Tea Cream Puff ($7): A seasonal star—floral, creamy, with a touch of jam. Matcha Cream Puff ($5): A classic, not too sweet. Even better frozen! 📍 Elbow Bread (1 Ludlow St, Manhattan) Cozy, popular, and closes early—so plan ahead! Schmaltz Scallion Knot ($7+): A flaky, savory scallion roll with sea salt. Pure comfort. Marmalade Sheep Cheese Danish ($7+): Interesting combo, but the pastry fell short. Maybe skip the laminated dough here.
